Freedom is an illusion anyway. The only thing new with this Patriot Act nonsense is that the government doesn't have to be sneaky about violating peoples' rights anymore.
So we actually save tax dollars because it costs less to violate citizens' rights if you don't have to cover up all those tracks!
Exactly! Check this out... since 2001, the amount spent on classifying government documents has gone from $200 million to $300 million per year, and the government is imposing around 150 new secrecy orders per year.
That's a pretty intelligent system, to say "Hey, we're wasting money sneaking around like this. We can save over $100 million a year if we just make it legal to do whatever we want". Awesome.
